Portrait Huldrych Zwingli

Huldrych Zwingli, portrait by Hans Asper 1531

The Zwingliverein was founded in 1897 and is a Zurich-based scientific society whose membership is open to all interested individuals as well as parishes and other groups.

One of the main aims of the association is to research the history of the Swiss Reformation, to raise awareness of this history and tradition and to communicate it to a wider public.

The perception and shaping of the present and future requires an awareness of the past. For this reason, scientific insight should be incorporated into the discourse on the Reformation, its history of impact and the shape of today’s Reformed Church.
